Get Started in Music

Get Started in Music is a programme run by the Prince’s Trust and was delivered in partnership with NXG Project. The programme involved working with 15 young people on music based project, delivered over 5 days. The project aimed to show participants how to get into the music industry, inspiring the young people to take the first step to increase their confidence, skills and employability and utilise the program as a vehicle for personal development and goal-setting. Creative Arts Workshops

Film In A Day Workshop

This is a one day, fully hands on film making programme that involved young people collaborating to produce a film using all various techniques familiar to filmmaking. The project began with an concept to short scriptwriting or storyboarding to location planning, improvisation to practising parts and filming. Participants leant how to make use of their environment and think on the spot of new ideas and practical means of achieving their objectives. They learnt how to work according to tight schedules, a worthy experience for working in the media industry. To review the workshop finished product play the video.

Dance Workshops

The NXG project facilitates a street dance group made up of young people , our dance workshop hopes to give them an option and also aims to help build their self esteem, inspire their personal development, enhance understanding and appreciation of cultural and artistic diversity and to introduce new experiences and activities in a fun and inspiring environment.

Youth Engagement Programs

Young Offenders Institution Project

During a five day project, inclusive of music, dance, and drama workshops, individuals learnt how to create and perform their material and improve their confidence/ self-esteem. Challenging creative exercises presented valuable opportunities for students to rehearse important life skills, for example, finding multiple well-thought out solutions to a problem, giving and responding to constructive criticism, and interacting across racial differences. The project ended with a showcase event, where participants performed their creations from the workshops. Review music made from the workshoping by playing the mp3 player.
